Perfect PR conditions made for a great race!
I had a solid race at racine in good conditions, still plenty of room for improvement though.
Total - 4:21:07 - 41st O””””all (1207)
Swim - 25:25 (152)- I had a good swim but not 25min good, it was short and had a current.
Bike - 2:18:10, 24.3 (13) - Solid ride, could have gone faster with better pacing as I got a little carried away on some of the rolling hills racing people.
Run - 1:34:28 (7:13) - Apart from a early stop at a porta john I was feeling really good on the run, paced out the 1st lap and then picked it up a lot of the second lap. Got to the finish with a sprint and feeling way to good, should have gone harder on the first lap. I want to be able to run 1:25 or faster of a bike like this.

All in all a great race, really enjoyed my self and felt great the whole time, always nice to get a positive PR. Plus I know I have at least pound to drop to be at proper race wait and that will make a difference across the board.

Thanks to Gary (Red Army) for putting me in touch with Bill Linnerman founder of Missionbay multisport and a rich part of Triathlons childhood. Bill had some stock that he was selling off which included a 2008 Jamis Xenith T1 that just happened to be in my size…..well I was looking to retire the 10+ year old softride so I jumped at the chance, it was also a supper deal!

Since my last post I have done lots of racing, training and working. My brother-in-law got married and my parents came to visit at the same time, lots of fun it was great to see them looking fit and healthy.
On the blog side I have added a new page that displays live video from my phone when I record it and also lets you see where I am in the world…….I get about.
I also have a ton of photos some pushed up to flickr some soon to be posted there. Due to spam I have had to stop comments being posted.

Its finally started to warm up here in Michigan, the sun is poking its head out from behind the clouds now and then.
Last weekend was my first multisport race of the season, the Steelcase Duathlon hosted in Grand Rapids by 3D.
It was a solid field that turned up which made for a fun and challenging race. I got to race test the team uniform getting a team shout out from the race director. The suit is like a second skin, I love it! My race went well, couple of solid runs with a steady bike, hopefully the next couple of weeks of bike focus and speed/tempo efforts will help beat some solid bike fitness back into my legs.
Team member Greg Howard, tore the course up and ran away with the overall race victory. I was happy to run down a bike TT specialist in the last ½ mile to pick up 4th O’all and my age group win.
